Sen. Kip Averitt to Switch Parties From GOP to Democrat?

State Sen. Kip Averitt, R-McGregor, has never been described as “conservative,” so this latest news from the March 2 GOP primary campaign should come as no surprise.

Averitt needs to switch parties and become a Democrat. He’s not “moderate.” He’s just an out-and-out liberal socialist.

If that happens, real conservative Darren Yancy, R-Burleson, will be the only Republican in the race. That would make me happy.

(Averitt represents Ellis County in Senate District 22, one of 31 senate districts across Texas.)

Look at the liberal “planks” in Averitt’s Senate Bill 16 legislation he attempted to have the State of Texas adopt.

This from a Republican? No, this from a Republican In Name Only (RINO.)

Senate Bill 16 Critique
(Need info on the Texas Emissions Reduction Plan Fund)

P3 Sec 2.02 — reducing nitrous oxide emissions
P5 Sec 2.05 — clean air acct
P7 Sec 391.003 (d) — ability to makes as deemed “necessary” to complete chapter
P18 Sec 386.303 — hybrid rebate of $4000
P27 Sec 6 –- appliance rebates
P28 Art 7 Building Codes –- adopts International Resident Code
P32 Art 8 –- idling trucks when driver in sleeper – restricting when and where this can be done
P40 Sec 392.059 –- regulates pool pump motors
P46 Sub Ch J –- Green house Gas Registry

Just in case there are others who would like to vent at this obvious and apparent and blatantly liberal lawmaker, here are the contacts on our State Republican Executive Committee — every political party in Texas has an executive committee comprised of individuals representing state senate districts.

Since we’re in SD-22, we have two SREC representatives who are charged with representing us before the Texas GOP.

Wonder how much that cost the Democratic party.

  2. charlotted says:

The state of Louisiana is going to get $100 million dollars for the democratic senator’s vote on health care reform. We are to believe that Congress and the Senate are pushing this bill for us. How bad is this going to get before we totally succumb to the govt. and have to go to them for EVERYTHING.
