Why was, or was Daryl Spence demoted to patrol? Last i heard he was in CID, and doing a geat job.

  2. Daryl Spence for City Marshal says:

Here is my question why is moving from CID to patrol a demotion? I guess the guys who were in CID not by their choice under the old administration and asked to go back to patrol were demoted too? In todays “economic crisis” one should be thankful to have a job making 40,000 a year and having a three day weekend every other week. Wow, Crow T Robot the way I see it if possible he will be able to work less and draw a decent pay check still.

Keep up the good work Johnny, it is being noticed that you are making progress.

The clean patrol vehicles look nice, glad to see a sense of pride being taken by your patrol deputies.

  3. Crow T. Robot says:

Just wondering, mainly because Daryl was in CID and now he isn’t. He had been in that position for a wjile and knows what he was doing. He should not have to take a pay cut just to suit the powers that be. That Daryl was in CID against his will, doing something he doesn’t care for, then I now know the truth and not hearsay. To often people take for “truth” what is actually hearsay.

  4. rodney says:

Just because something is hearsay doesn’t mean its not true…mull on that for a while.

Hearsay is just a statement made by another and offered for truth. Folks get all caught up on a legal standard and forget this is not the courtroom.

Most hearsay is actually truth…its just the wrong witness making the statement…if we applied that standare to the media you could never have a reporter state anything anyone else had stated…doesnt work anywhere but the courtroom and in reality the exceptions to the hearsay rule swallow the rule and you can most likely get it in anyway.

    TaDa.

Speaking of clean patrol cars…I notice a Constable car getting cleaned near the corner of FM66 and I35. Does the County pay for car washes? Can a County Employee fill up at his/her own gas station?

    Just wondering….

  6. Terry Nay says:

    In response to Rodney,

It was brought to my attention that you had posted a comment in reference to Constable cars.

I want to make it perfectly clear to you and all the readers that YES I own the Car Wash at FM66 and I-35E. I also own the wash on N. Hwy 77 @ Anita Ln, along with the Day Spa.

All our vehicles are washed on a regular basis as to keep them neat and clean and I require that of my Deputies and myself. Our cars are almost always washed at my car washes for a very simple reason, THEY ARE FREE.

Yes that’s correct, I give FREE car washes to my own department to keep the County owned vehicles clean and neat, thereby saving the County Taxpayers money.

Ocasionally I will have the vehicles professionally detailed, (carpet shampooed, paint polished, interior armoralled etc.), and the county does pay for those services to various detailers within the county.

I do this apprx. once a year, and the Free washes are given by me personally to the County for each vehicle at least once a week, or as often as needed to keep them clean.

I guess if someone owned a gas station and wanted to give free gas to his patrol vehicles, I guess the taxpayers would appreciate that as well.

    Thanks for your concern,

    Constable Terry Nay
    Ellis County Precinct 2

    Terry,

Need to go back and read that post again…wasn’t mine…someone called Fedup posted that one.

I haven’t posted any comments referencing Constables cars…its not something I have any interest in, yet.

    Rodney

  8. Terry Nay says:

    Rodney,

You are absolutely correct. Shows my inattentiveness to this format and site, I now see that the name is posted below the comments not above.

My Sincere apologies for replying to you rather than Mr. Fedup.

If you are the Rodney I think you are, then if and when you develop that “Interest” about anything related to my office, you know where to find me and you know the answer is only a phone call away.

Thanks for the “heads up” on “Fedup”.

    See you around my friend.

    Thanks Again,
    Terry Nay

  9. rodney says:

    Terry,

Yep, its me…and you know if I need any information about your office I will come to you directly….thanks for the response.

Didn’t want you thinking I was worried about whether your cars were clean or not…keep up the good work
