Update | Joey Dauben Arrested; Charges Rejected by DA; Cops, Chief Resign

Updated: Dec. 8, 2009

Joey’s charges were rejected by the Dallas County District Attorney’s office and Combine Police Chief Steve Allen and his volunteer reserve “detective” John Allen “Jay” Hoskins have both resigned after the false imprisonment of Joey.

So far, according to Grafton County Jail, Joey Dauben is being held without bail on fugitive from justice charges.

Which means, even though this investigation started this summer and he has been GONE since February to establish residency for law school, he is being held on fleeing from the law basically.

According to the press release sent from the Combine Police Department, he is currently being held in the Grafton County Jail in Plymouth, New Hampshire awaiting the extradition process back to Texas.

Probable cause affidavits for the warrants of his arrests presented to Judge John Creuzot, Criminal District Court #4 are as follows:

Engaging in organized criminal activity, a second degree felony
Obstruction or Retaliation, a third degree felony
Misuse of Official information, a third degree felony

These charges are stemming from a drivers license photo posted on this very site of John Hoskins, a Combine police officer and alleged monetary transactions received from Michael Meissner, former chief of police in Bardwell, to Dauben, thus him being paid to “slander” Hoskins on the blogs.

The unlawful misuse of information charge stems from Dauben posting information he allegedly obtained from Meissner.

Good advice Charolloted. One should not blindly accuse and blame. How ironic – Joey’s been doing that for years – spreading innuendo or creating stories or assuming corruption where he doesn’t know all the facts. He’s never been shy to fill in the gaps in his stories with his version of “what evil must be happening”. He’s also hurt good people along the way without much regard. Maybe he’ll learn from this.

Joey’s an intelligent guy. It’s a shame he wastes his intelligence (and his life) the way he does. Had he not done so, he would easily have the $30K he needs for an attorney. Heck, he wouldn’t be in this position in the first place.

This is interesting. The Chair of the NH Dems did this kind of crap for years, and then he was elevated to Chair.

He is even doing it right now…!

Funny how no one arrested him.

What ever happened to freedom of speech?

  3. charlotted says:

Freedom is basically what you can “get away” with. You can talk all you want but if you mention God, you will be stifled. You can carry a gun in this state, but not in that one. You can cross the state line to shop at Wal Mart but you can’t buy insurance there. We have freedom as long as no one can afford an expensive attorney to get an injunction to shut us up. You can own land unless somebody wants it to build a road or another Wal Mart. We elected a socialist President, and now we’re all surprised that the U.S. is favoring socialist programs. Your freedom of speech (and many other freedoms) is going the way of the dinosaur, except at a much faster pace.

    Ditto…….

It might be noted that attorneys, much smarter than me, are the people on the front line trying to keep this from happening.

    ok crow and charlotted

tell me what freedoms have you lost in the last 20 years. be specific i’d really want to know. I don’t feel less ‘free’ than i did 20 years ago, please enlighten me. Mark would that also go for the ACLU? Just curious. While I don’t agree with the ACLU completely I do support an organization to fight for civil liberties, but then again what individual can completely agree with anything 100 percent?

  7. tellmemore says:

While we are on the subject of God. As long as God stays out of our schools and out of politics you can talk about God all you want. Are you really prepared to here other’s opinions? It seems here when you disagree with the ‘ultra’ conservatives you get stomped on pretty hard.

I talk about God all the time who is stopping you?

  8. charlotted says:

True. There are attorneys out there doing just that. But I don’t think that is enough. The people of this country are going to have to wake up and see what is going on. These 20 and 30 year lifetime politicians need to go. We need term limits. We have no representation in Washington. We need new blood in the House and Senate. We need people that made good grades in history so they won’t repeat the mistakes of past politicians. We need to get out of our trance and see what is happening and act responsibly and VOTE. Only now, after thousands and millions of people have attended the town hall meetings, the tea parties, and the 912 rallies, are several politicians, especially democrats, afraid for their jobs enough that they are questioning the health care bill. But we can’t stop now, lest we return to our hibernation and govt goes on without us. I may be overly passionate about this, but as I read between the lines, it scares me to think where this country is going.
Don’t take offense to my remark yesterday about the attorneys. I did not mean to lump them into any particular category. They are a tool used by unscrupulous people and just doing their job. I for one, realize that without attorney representation, many of us would be in dire straits.

I’ll tell you one. There is a lone cross standing in the middle of a desert in California that was put there to honor WW1 vets. One vet in particular on his death bed asked a friend to keep up the maintenance on the cross so it would not deteriorate. So a man and his wife have done just that for the past 20 or so years. Now, ONE person decided he did not like it so he goes to the ACLU that files a suit in court to remove the cross. I realize it sits on govt land, but who is the govt. It’s not an outside entity that rules over us. It is US. It is our taxes that pay for that govt land. But one person makes a religious argument so the hundreds or thousands of people wanting to keep the cross as a memorial have their rights extinguished. They are not selling religion. It is just a memorial. Would you rather they put up a swatztika. If you don’t think God has been forced out of our schools, meeting places, etc, then you need to go outside of your front door and see what is happening in this country.

“It might be noted that attorneys, much smarter than me, are the people on the front line trying to keep this from happening.”

It might also be noted that the vast majority of those causing it to happen are also attorneys.

  11. David Jenkins says:

It might be time to replace ALL attorneys in government at all levesl with housewives, business owners, farmers, etc.

  12. Really?!! says:

We may not have “lost” many rights in the past 20 years but it is only because true Constitutionalists have taken a stand against those who believe the Constitution is just a piece of paper from over 200 yrs. ago and that it has no real relevance today. And if you don’t believe those people are out there fighting everyday to change this country then you are not paying attention!

I, too, believe religion has no place in our classrooms. If we allow some religious teachings in our public school we must allow all. That is something to be taught in the home. But, this country was founded on a belief in God. Other than Satanism, all religions are based in the faith and belief of some God, whether that is how the higher power is named or not. Our society has allowed the gradual influence of secular progressives who have risen to power because the majority have not been paying attention. I have seen, and am proud of, the rise of the Silent Majority. And, whether you believe this or not, these folks come from both sides of the political isle.
Read the Constitution! It is a living document which is even more pertinent today than it has been in the past 200 yrs.

    Just my opinion.

  13. charlotted says:

tellmemore Here’s another one. The Arlington National Cemetery has the part of Roosevelt’s speech at the onset of WWII. The last few words, “so help us God” seemed to have been left off. Coincidence, accident, inadvertently done? I Doubt it. Just another link to rights we are slowly losing to anti religious socialists that compromise 14% of our population, seeing as how 86% of the population believes in some sort of God. Although not an actual right, the absence of God in govt seems unAmerican when all the founding fathers as well as signers of the constitution had some religious affiliation. At least 4 were preachers and many more were sons of preachers. The signers had more religious beliefs than even their earlier counterparts in early 1700. But now, in all our knowledge and wisdom, we can’t show any devotion to any God that has govt. ties. But I repeat myself, who is the govt? Isn’t it you and me. Don’t 86% of us deserve to have God mentioned in our daily lives. The govt is not teaching religion when it displays the 10 commandments or has a cross at the cemetery or has God inscribed on a memorial. It is expressing what most of us believe in, although it is less than the signers of the constitution. How did we get here? Have we been asleep that long? Apparently so. But, that’s my opinion.
Just an afterthought, why can we teach about Muslim religion in school and sing praises to president Obama? Just wondering.

I’ll tell you another right that has been lost, Man and Woman alike have lost the right to work and earn a living without interferance from the Big Brother nanny state whom deems to make it a requirement that you pass the E-Verify back groung check which is run through the Department of Homeland Security, for a minuim wage job. I am not a terrorist, I am a veteran. But yet because the DHS considers patriotic constitution loving veterans a security risk to homeland security I am flagged everytime I apply for a Job flipping burgers let alone better paying jobs that are careers. How many employers and corps are now partipating in the E verify program? A great deal as I well know becuase I’ve seen it first hand. You make it where a man or woman can not make a living, you turn them into criminals when their backs are against the wall, and a starving family at home.

Agreed Crow T. Also, why do non-citizens cross our borders at-will and citizens can’t fly from Dallas to Houston without X-raying everything we own, including our bodies.

And to further job discrimination, some states, I believe Texas included, want to make your job dependent on whether or not you get a flu shot.
A foggy madness has encompassed our country and we are unable to see the light for the clouds. Whether or not we are losing our rights, fees and licenses are being printed at such a rapid rate, there isn’t even time to let the ink dry.
